About fifteen years ago it was thought that this high and dry land was useless, hut now it is brought under cultivation and the laborers are paid for their toil for Clod's blessings have attended us. Still all these blessings are not without their trials, for with them have come many Badylonish ideas. The Latter-day Latter-day Saints should not go on pleasure pleas-ure excursions and spend thousands thou-sands of dollars to the desecration of the Sabbath. In carrying out the counsels and suggestions given us by those of experience, there are safety and joy and satisfaction. Those who are placed to preside are not supposed to enforce rigid rules and make everyone bow to their suggestions, but must be meek and humble with the spirit of Jesus. Advised the Saints to be prepared to administer food to the worthy people wiio might come in our midft. Elder G f.o. RrcvNTorns, was aware the things of Babylon were coming among us. We should raise our warning voice to the people. peo-ple. The abversary is not dead. We should be on our guard in the present circumstances. Consider the Kingdom of Clod and its sentiments senti-ments first and we will have no distinctions among us. The Latter-day Latter-day Saints should be mindful of the training of our children. Their care and instruction should not be entrusted to the Sunday school or Primary teachers alone, but should receive a daily training by teaching and example at home. President Lorenzo Snow, desired de-sired to speak on a very important subject, and had an important mission mis-sion for a few of our young men. Pit Est dent Clawson trusted the Lord would he pleased to meet with us during this Conference. The Presidency of the . Stake feel a deep interest in the progress of the Saints in tiiis Stake and feel well in visiting among them in-their in-their various wards. We find evils existing that should not be among us. There are divisions arising in various places. We cannot be placed in a position that would justify us in encouraging and justifying division. We know the people of the city of Enoch were a united people, whereby they were brought to perfection. All truths and intelligence belong to the Church of Jesus Christ. By supporting our Stake Academics wo are plnciug wisdom and intelligence in-telligence within the reach of our children. Pues. J. G. Kim hall had come to perforin a duty, as every servant ser-vant of God should be prepared to do. Had gained his knowledge and testimony through small things; they sometimes make great impressions. Uelaled his missionary mis-sionary experience in Yirgiuia regarding re-garding his labors among the poor and how miraculously the Lord had blessed him in baptizing new members. It is through labor and responsibilities only that we become be-come men and women. If we place ourselves in a position that we can be tested, more work will be required of us than we can per-! per-! form. ! Elder Crandall Dtnn.
