Show Uintah Basin Pioneer Passes Away Samuel Archie Jenkins, former form-er resident of Roosevelt, passed away in Salt Lake City, Sept. 25. Mr. Jenkins homesteaded the farm now owned by Thomas Shisler, 1 mile cast of Roosevelt, in 1906 and lived there until 19-24, 19-24, moving to Vernal. Utah, where he continued in the farming farm-ing and cattle raising industry. The past three years he has been an employe of the Utah Copper Mines in Bingham Canyon, Can-yon, Utah. Mr. Jenkins leaves a host of friends here and will be remembered remem-bered as a pioneer of the Uintah Basin. Survivors include three sons, Dee and Edward of Vernal and Pvt. David Lee of Camp Roberts, California; four daughters, Mrs. Lola Killpack of Tucson, Arizona, Ari-zona, Mrs. Dora Freston of Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, Ada Curtis of Bingham canyon, Utah, and Lydia Ann Dinsley of Midvale, Utah; 21 grandchildren, One brother, Frank of Lapoint and three sisters, sis-ters, Mrs. Hannah Abplanalp of Los Angeles, Mrs. Bessie Abla-nalp, Abla-nalp, Utahn, and Mrs. Nettie Jensen of Roosevelt. Funeral services will be held in the Maeser L D S chapel Friday Fri-day at 2 P. M. |
