Show BLACKFOOT AND THE WOOD RIVER COUNTRY. From Wm. (William) E. Wheeler, Esq. (Esquire), we learn that Blackfoot is booming and already there is a prospect of the capital being removed to that place. The people at Boise are surely trembling. Building is progressing rapidly at Blackfoot; and the enterprising businessmen intend to invest their big capital in making the town one of the best in Idaho. Very soon it is expected that a toll bridge will be constructed across the Snake River at this point. The Wood River country receives all its freight by way of Blackfoot. In the mining region surrounding Wood River there are thousands of men already prospecting and laboring. The prospects for the district are extremely brilliant. |
