Louisville, Ky., July 23 - A convict named Vonderkeide escaped from the Frankfort penitentiary on Tuesday morning and the same night broke into a house at LaGrange, stealing citizens' clothing. On his way towards Louisville he passed through Brownshore where he outraged and murdered a thirteen year old negro girl, throwing her body into a ravine. Vonderkeide was captured in the vicinity. New York, July 24 - Dr. Tanner is somewhat weaker and more irritable this morning. He complained of a burning sensation in the stomach and was given to [two] mouthfuls of hot water, which relieved distress. His physicians think it unfavorable. He says during his fast in Minneapolis he often experienced the same sensation. He enters the 27th day's fast with no other marked changes in his condition. Dr. Tanner was better this evening, chatting with reporters on spiritualism giving his views thereon. He seemed lively and cheerful. He did not take his afternoon drive and retired at 9:30.
