Show THE Page Bght Plate Win First At Regulations Covering Elk Permits Itemized Department of Fish and Gema spokesmen note the following regulations as important to Utah nimrods applying for an elk permit this year. Application Is by mail only to department offices, 1596 West North Temple, Salt lake City, in the special envelope provided through license agents over the state. The $15 fee must be in the form of certified check, cashiers check, or postal money order. Personal check or currency are not acceptable. Either a big game or combination fishing and hunting license must be possessed by all applicants prior to application. Nonresidents may not apply. Applications are acceptable beginning August 23 until midnight September 1. Letters post marked later than midnight September 1 will not be entered in the public drawing to be conducted at the State Capitol Biulding at 11:00 a.m., September 10. Anyone having drawn an elk permit for the 1953 season is ineligible to apply for such a permit for four hunting seasons following the year in which a permit was obtained. Names of prospective permitees for the speciail conditional elk hunts on the Nebo and Cache units will be drawn from aU applicants or the regular hunts for these areas.
