Show Page 26 The Thunderbvrd Tuesday October 1, 1985 Miss SUSC pageant here A beauty queen must meet many requirements, ranging from age and marital status to gender and citizenship. To begin with, not only does the hopeful contestant need to be single, a Utah resident, and a U.S. citizen enrolled here at SUSC, but must also be an attractive female between the ages of 17 and 26. Contestants will attend workshops concerning poise, make-uand hair design, interviews, talent displays, and swimsuit. The swimsuit portion of the pageant will be privately held to help insure modesty and to relieve the pressure on the contestants. A few restricdons will be imposed throughout the queens reign. The queen must remain single or relinquish her crown to her first She must aiso agree to represent SUSC in the Miss runner-up- . Utah State Pageant. The queen will receive a full scholarship to SUSC and her two will both receive half scholarships. runners-uThe queen will preside over all homecoming activities as well as representing SUSC in the state pageant. Her picture will also be hung in the Student Center Lounge with all the other past Miss SUSCs. Applications can be picked up from Nita Leavitt, Student Center secretary. Applications must be turned into the Student Center office no later than 5 p.m. on October 9.
