Show GOLDEN GATE DEAL ON Captain De Lamar Hay Take the I Entire Group H INSPECTED TH MIKES MILL AT DC LAMAR OPERATING TO FULl > CAPACITY Ilonorlne at Stockton Will Be Equipped With n New Coacentra tor Some New and Rich Ore Bodies Being Opened Up Old Telegraph Tel-egraph Denl Said to Be Practically Practi-cally Closed Up Snrveja For the Ophir Mercur Water System Being Made General Mining Sews Captain John R DeLamar Is back at his old quarters at the Knutsford and last night parlor A was the Mecca for many mIning operators who had business bus-iness with the captain or who were industriously In-dustriously endeavorIng to interest him in some of the many propositions which are now being floated But the gentleman was too busy with his Camp Floyd district deal to pay much attention at-tention to anything else For sometime some-time past Captain DeLamar has been figuring on the purchase of the Golden Gate group near Mercur considered to I be one of the most promising properties in the district and a corps of experts made a thorough examination of the mines I Is understood that the reports re-ports made by the gentlemen were favorable I fa-vorable and upon their showing the captain has devoted the past two days to a personal inspection of the Golden Gate and one or two other mines In the district returning from the camp last night As is always the case With mining men who return from their first visit to the Camp Floyd district mines I the captain is greatly enthused over the splendid prospects of the new golci district and last night expressed thj I opinion that it would speedily become I one of the heaviest if not the heaviest i heavi-est producers in the territory He j previously had no idea of the great showing there The ore bodies of the I Mercur were surprises to him on account I ac-count of their extent and evident richness rich-ness When seen last night by a Herald reporter the captain stated that the Golden Gate deal had not been closed and everything would depend upon returns re-turns received during the next day or two from the assays of samples of ore from the properties An inspection of the group had shown to him that it is a good piece of property I is anticipated I antici-pated that the deal will be closed within the next few It Is wihin days I now a 1 question of values The Golden Gate group is owned by Mr Butts and associates asso-ciates I Is located a little northeast of the town of Mercur and almost east of the Marion and Geyser Assays received I re-ceived from ore taken out of the workings work-ings have always given high values There is an overabundance of arsenic ar-senic however but it is said that this I objectionable feature can easily be removed re-moved by roasting the ore Should i i Captain DeLamar decide to interest I i himself in the Camp Floyd district i will mean much for the future of the camp for he always goes in for the very latest things In mills and ore treatment regardless of the cost He i is of the opinion that the best is the cheapest I Upon his return to this city the can tain received another dispatch from his superintendent at DeLamar conveying con-veying the information that the mill I is now operating its fullest capacity I sixty tons ana tne values in the ores I are being saved to fully 961 per cent with the chlorination Just as soon as the work can be accomplished the plant is to b increased to one hundred I tons capacity All of the necessary machinery has already been ordered |
