Show Death in the a gum of Hydrophobia. Hydro-phobia. A early th ee months ago a brignt boy, ten years ot age, the eldest sou of Mr. Doremus, the 1'ater-photographer, 1'ater-photographer, petted a little white lap-dog, wnicli was following two ladies la-dies in trout of his father's store, and admiringly stroke the animal on the back, when the dog bit his hand. The wound was dressed by a physician, and healed nicely, but from that time the Chill has been nervous, aim complained com-plained ot shooting pains starting from his arm and going through his head and along his spine, and latterly through bis whole person. He went to school till Monday last, and could not rest at school longer. On Monday night he seemed to have spasms, but was better on the day tollowiu ; but ou Wednesday night grew learfully agitated, and could not be controlled, and leaped from his father's amis several times, and ran wildly about the room. He wanted to eat but could uot, and ; lthough burning witu beat and thnst, when water was brought to him he shiveied and repelled it, and could uot swallow, or if he did, it seemed to be with a great effort and with a jerk. He did not sleep after Sunday nigtit, and grew weaker after every spam, bit his lips badly, and failed till 4 o'clock on Tnursday alter noon, when death came to his relief. re-lief. A. Y- bun July 2 |
