Show She Struck on the Shears. DelawAbe Breakwatee, January 6. The British ship "Adolphus," which cleared London November 20th with a cargo of chalk and empty petroleum barrels, struck on the shears just inside -of the breakwater on Monday, and has become a total loss. She has her bottom stove in and is full of water, and nothing can be saved but her rigging and a portion of her cargo. Captain Sanders and his crew of twenty men are at Lewes. The "Adolphus" registered 1.319 tons and measured 180 feet in length. The loss will be nearly $100,000. |
