Show J i ' vr-W vr-W - Vt States 1916-18 and is a veteran of World War I. They were married December Dec-ember 21, 1921 in the Salt Lake Temple. Both have had active church and civic lives. Mrs. Ol-pin Ol-pin served in two ward Relief Society presidencies and was president of the Wasatch Stake Relief Society 1947-53. Mr. Ol-pin Ol-pin was bishop of Pleasant Grove 1st Ward 1927-28, then counselor in the new Timpan-ogas Timpan-ogas Stake Presidency in 1928. He was a member of the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove City Council 1926-27. Following the death of Mr. Olpin's father, Edwin D. Olpin, pioneer funeral director, in 1926, Joseph and his brother Lewis E. formed a partnership in this profession that brought the former to Heber City October Oct-ober 4, 1928 to establish the local Olpin Mortuary. This partnership was dissolved in 1946. The Heber firm, now including in-cluding sons Ted and Guy, expanded ex-panded to Roosevelt in 1948 and to Park City in 1952. Ambulance service was an important duty associated with these mortuaries mor-tuaries until 1965 when pressure of business made it necessary for Olpins to terminate this branch of their work. Mr. Olpin was bishop of Heber First Ward 1930-43, a member of the Heber City Council four two-year terms, member Heber Valley Fire Department 25 years, member Lions Club, American Legion, etc. Mr. and Mrs. Olpin filled a mission in Texas 1966-68. The couple was blessed with nine children, namely with mates Ted and Edith Helmer Olpin, Roosevelt, Utah; Inazelle and George Knight, Guy and Shirley Hewitson Olpin of Heber City; Mary and Bruce Wasden of Bennion, Salt Lake County; Betty (deceased) and Lowell Coleman, Midway; Clara and Dr. George Snell of Kaysville; Audrey and Richard Haight, Sandy; Violet and Paul Loert-scher, Loert-scher, Granger; June and Hardy Anderson, Denver, Colo.; They also have 52 grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Olpin Note Golden Wedding Date Dec. 18 The family of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Olpin of 65 E. 3rd St. Heber City, Utah wishes to announce the Golden Wedding reception of their parents to be held Saturday, December 18, 1971, at the old family home, 288 N. Main St., Heber City, from 3 to 7 p.m. The family invites all friends and relatives to attend. (No gifts please.) Mrs. Olpin, formerly Violet Larsson, was born in Sweden and came to America in 1909, with her mother and sister, as a convert to the LDS Church. She lived in Imbler, Oregon seven years and then moved to Pleasant Grove. She was graduated grad-uated from the Pleasant Grove High School and from the LDS Hospital School of Nursing with an R. N. degree. Mr. Olpin was born in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove, was graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, attended BYU and was graduated from the Hohenschue-Carpent-er College of Embalming.
