Show Volume XII Issue XI THE OGDEN VALLEY NEWS Page 5 September 15, 2005 Two Alpine Pizza Celebrates Third Birthday New Exhibits on Display at the Ogden Valley Branch Library The Ogden Valley Branch Library is pleased to present two new art exhibitions featuring the painting of Ed Palmer and the pottery of Wes Groesbeck. The works of these two talented artists will be on display in the Lorna Wattis Swanson Gallery September 3 through October 21. Marbled Ware by Wes Groesbeck Wes Groesbeck is currently experimenting with a new pottery technique known as Marbled Alpine Pizza has been serving the Ogden Valley for three years since its opening on September 25, 2002. “Tt has been a pleasure to serve the Valley” says Jim Halay, owner of Alpine Pizza. “I believe the formula for our success is serving high quality products such as pizza, sandwiches, and hotwings. Local Youth Participate in Dance Theater Compiled by Shanna Francis Ogden Valley News Three young women from Ogden Valley are part of the award winning Imagine Ballet Theatre. Kaitlin Poulter, Sarah Guyon, and Chelsea Keefer travel six days a week to Ogden’s Peery’s Egyption Theater Dance Studio for class and rehearsals in preparation for the production of the world premier balet “The Secret Garden” will be performed November 10, 11, 12 in Ogden featuring music by Kurt Bestor. Based at the Egyptian, Imagine Ballet Theater (IBT) is a relatively new organization. Still, the organization recently won the prestigious Utah Best of State Children’s Performing Group award. IBT was created and organized in 2004 under the vision and direction of Raymond Van Mason, former Ballet West Principal Artist and nationally recognized choreographer and teacher. He states that he wanted to create a pre-professional “youth” ballet company to afford aspiring young dancers professional training and performance experiThe Company may utilize up to sixty dancers, ages nine and up, in a regular season. The young dancers have the opportunity to work with guest instructors, dance and perform with professional guest artists, develop and dance story themed roles, and help create something really special—a family-oriented cultural activity for the greater Ogden community.
