Ramona was born April 12, 1922 in Clifton, Idaho to Marion Leander and Mary Louise Morgan Spackman. She was the seventh of 11 children. She was reared in Layton, Utah and graduated from Davis High School. She married Walter Dale Bingham on June 30, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mom and Dad made a great team and remained sweethearts throughout their life. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints throughout her life. Mom had an unwavering commitment to living the gospel. She served as a visiting teacher for 61 years, and she faithfully supported Dad in his various leadership callings in the church. They served together for many years in the Ogden Temple. Motherhood was a holy calling to Mom; she lived it with honor every day of her life. Her greatest joy was being with her family, lifting and encouraging them in their daily endeavors. Grandchildren were welcomed with open arms and she encouraged them in their adult lives to marry and bring children into the world, to teach them gospel truths, and be an example to them. She is survived by her husband of 61 years and their nine children; Barbara (Ned) Willie of Hooper; Eileen (Jack) Clawson of Huntsville; Stephen (Kay) Bingham of Willard; Madalyn (Robert) Taylor of Marriott; Gregory (Susan) Bingham of West Jordan; Virginia (Gary) Willden of Tremonton; Deborah (Steven) Montgomery of Huntsville; Louise (Roger) Carroll of Smithfield; Sterling (Lisa) Bingham of Syracuse, 49 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are one brother, Marion Spackman, Peterson and five sisters, Emma Harris, Rigby, Idaho; Anna Robison, Salt Lake City; Sarah Stott, Layton; Irene Wilde, Coalville; and Ruth Andrews, Lehi. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Madelein and Mary Elise Spackman, Elizabeth Tesch and brother Henry Spackman, grandson, Josh Taylor, and greatgrandson John Walter Taylor. The family wishes to thank Dr. Glen Biddulph for his kind and compassionate care of our mother and family. Funeral services were held October 8, 2003 at the Roy Utah North Stake Center in Roy, Utah, Bishop Rocky Olson officiating. Interment, Kaysville Cemetery. Jensen HUNTSVILLE - Lula Hill Jensen, 84, of Huntsville, Utah, passed away peacefully October 8, 2003, at the home of her only daughter, Patti Child, as a result of congestive heart failure. Lula was born September 26, 1919, in Liberty, Utah, and was raised on a farm there as the second of seven children born to William Edwin Hill and Mary Florence Shaw Hill. She was married to Keith G. Jensen on February 17, 1939, in the Salt Lake Temple by Elder David O. McKay. Together until Keith’s death in 1996, they raised a family of four children and operated crop and livestock farms in Huntsville and Snowville, Utah. Lula was a woman of exceptional talent, energy, and compassion. She was a homemaker in the finest sense of the word. She kept an immaculate home, a beautiful yard and garden, and produced bounteous meals that were both tasty and nutritious. She was blind to the faults of her children, and cheerfully supported her husband during his long years of service as a bishop and stake president in the LDS Church. She served as a teacher in all the Church auxiliaries, but her special love was music. Whether leading children in Primary or a succession of ward and stake choirs, she had an unusual ability to communicate through song, and brought joy and uplift to many. Lula’s religion was of the practical variety. She wasn’t just a hearer of the word. She was often found with those in need and nurtured a variety of foster children, foreign exchange students, and people for whom all was not well. She was a true and loyal friend to many, and was blessed to have that friendship reciprocated in many ways throughout her life. Lula will be remembered by her family members as one who saved her best for them. A warm home-made cinnamon roll, a freshly pressed blouse or shirt, a listening ear, an encouraging word—these were a few of her many gifts of self shared with her appreciative children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. To all of them she was a source of counsel, a gracious hostess, and a stable anchor in a world of shifting values. This life won’t be the same without her. Lula is survived by her four children, Gary Douglas Jensen, Marlin K. OBITUARIES cont. on page 7 Celeste C.
