Show march and august pig produces most profit by comparing wring spring and fall far rowed pigs in the light of experimental results it will be shown that the spring pigs required 3 pounds of meal to produce pounds of gain and were finished in days at an ti average weight of 1807 pounds per head the fall pigs consumed pounds of meal for every pounds of pork produced and required days to reach a finished average weight of 1728 pounds per head however 64 54 spring pigs show n profit of per head while 75 fall pigs show an average profit of per head in spite of the more costly production indicating that owing to 0 o better prices the fall pigs more than hold their own with the spring pigs Fur further flier in these experiments the march pigs and the august pigs made the greatest profit in their respective experiments showing that early litters both spring and fall strike the best market |
