I would like it to be used to purchase books for your Milford Library. I was a small child 70 years ago in Milford and the Library was a very special place forme. In a small room at the back were all of the children's books, and I read them all. The Grimm fairy- stories, I remember them all. When I had read every - book in the children's room, I started in the larger room and found shelves of small books, the size of children's books and read them. They happened to be Greek Classics, but to me they were no more fanciful than the dragons and knights of the children's books. I was in fourth grade where the teacher had all the students bring the books to class to show what they were reading. I took the Odyssey. She asked if I understood what I was reading .it sounded like a good story tome, all that sailing and adventures, certainly no different than the Knights of the Round Table.' In my later years I have sometimes wondered where all those books came front They must have been given by the early settlers, it has been said the pioneer families set great importance on reading and education. - .
