Mr. and Mrs. Gilchrist also visited with Mr. GU Christ's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gilchrist. Ward Webb and James Atkinson enjoyed a deer hunt In Southern Utah last week. They both return ed with a large deer. The Future Farmer boys of the Lehl High school held an interest ing meeting Friday evening. After the meeting they attended a show at a local theatre. Friday evening Mr. and Mrs- Noel Knight entertained at a prettily-appointed prettily-appointed dinner for Mr. and Mm. William W. Seegmlller and Mr- and Mrs. W. A. Knight of Salt Lake City. Mr- and Mm J. O- Child of Hooper came to Lehl Sunday and spent the day visiting with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs- Robert Phillips. Monday evening in the High School Auditorium. The County Candidates were in attendance at-tendance and were Introduced to the group present. Dr. Amos N. Merrill of the Brig-ham Brig-ham Toung University was the principal speaker- He talked on the principles of the tariff and the value of prohibition for the American people, saying that if for no other reason voters should vote the Republican ticket to safeguard America from the return of the open saloons. Mrs, Ida Smoot Dusenberry,- slater sla-ter of Senator Smoot, was the next speaker. She told of the change In the attitude of the Eastern people peo-ple towards the mormons In the laat thirty years since Senator Reed Smoot has been in congress. She told of her experiences in travels trav-els around the world, saying that America was much better off than Ladies Democra tic Committee HolOleeting The Democratic ladles of Lehl were tentextalned with an excellent excel-lent program Monday, when a caravan cara-van of lady Democratic leaders stopped here and presented the program, pro-gram, then continued south to hold meetings at various towns in the county. Earl Pardoe of Provo- Miss Sarah Chipman of American Ameri-can Fork read an original paper on Republican Principles. The crowd that attended, the meeting was undoubtedly the largest larg-est that has ever attended a program pro-gram sponsored by a ladlest organization. organ-ization. Refreshments were served at the close of the meeting. Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock a Republican rally was held in the Lehi Memorial building. Senator Reed Smoot, W. W. Seegmiller and the' entire state and county ticket were in attendance and were intro duced to Lehi people. Senator Smoot, Mr. Seegmiller and others gave splendid talks, stressing the Republican campaign and leading issues of their platform. The caravan left Santaquin at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning and stopped in each town enroute, hold ing meetings. They ended at Lehl, Charles Hawkins, county chalrmaa was in charge. Mr. Jay Gordon, who has been in the hospital for the past few weeks, receiving treatment for a broken hip, was removed to his home Wed-nesday. A good crowd was In atendance and everyon reports a gay time- o- ' SCOUT NEWS OF TROOP FIVE The Redskin Patrol of Troop Five forged ahead in the last lap of a six week contest, which closed Tuesday evening with the close score of 660 points to 656 in favor of the Redmen, the Flying Eagles losing a heavy lead in the last hour of the contest. The contest waa based on the following articles of troop activities: activi-ties: Attendnce at Troop Meetings, Sunday School and weekly patrol meetings, Daily good turns and patrol or group civic good turns; advancements and merit badges; patrol Demonstrations and stunts; Rqspom-e to weekly asalngtnents, conduct, inspections, etc. The contest was a hard fought one, between these two leading patrols. Store Burglarized Sunday Night Sometime during Sunday night the G- S. P. Store was entered by theives. When Mr- Peterson entered en-tered the store Monday morning he discovered that the cash register regis-ter had been rifled and on close examination discovered where some one had broken through the old Printing Office back of tho store and then broke through a petit-Ion petit-Ion into the main store. Officers were notified and on a thorough check decided thai it must have been boys around IS or 16 years of age. Mr- Peterson re ports that the loss was light, the boys perhaps becoming frightened away. J. F. Bradshaw. Mr. J- Nile Washburn of the local High School gave an x Interesting talk. Hallowe'en Hallo-we'en decorations adorned the m tertalning rooms and a color scheme suggestive of the spooky holiday prevailed also in the lunch-son lunch-son menu. The hostesses were Mrn G.
