We quote the words of one of our exchanges published pub-lished at about the time the now famous utterance was made: "At the quarterly conference of the Emery Stake of Zion, held at Castle Dale on tho 10th and 11th of January, Apostle John SV. Taylor urged upon hs hearers the importance of reading good books periodicals and the newspapers news-papers and said it was from these he gained most of Ilia knowledge. Said he. "And above all support your local newspaper. Subscribe for it in preference prefer-ence to any other paper and don't go around borrowing your nelghbors's paper pa-per and bothering other peoplo to loarn the local and county news. Take the county paper and read it and pay for It. There is no other enterprise that worhs more faithfully for tho advencement of locul institutions than does the local paper, and the editor should have your support and encouragement." 4 ii |
