Show Schools Thursday, October 13, 2005 Page 5 The Gunnison Valley Gazette GVES Halloween Carnival This year's annual Halloween carnival is scheduled for Friday, October 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. This is not on Halloween night, but the Friday before. The PTA has been working hard to make it a great experience for all the children, but they need your help. They are asking for donations for Red Ribbon Week Students'at Gunnison Valley Elementary School were able to invite their parents to eat school lunch with them this week. This was part of National School Lunch Week. Pictured is Calli Dalley, Sally Neal, Paisley Neal, Cassey Hansen, Tammy Hansen and Kennady Jensen. Red Ribbon Week is October 23-31. Look for fun *?* events going on s. . this week! PRINCIPAL PROUD Gunnison Valley Elementary School is starting a new incentive program. It is called Principal Proud. This is designed to help encourage students to show respect and kindness towards others, or in other words, exceptional behaviors. Teachers will give certificates each month, which the students will take to the principal to receive a Principal Proud Pencil. Every month, one student from each class will be awarded the Principal Proud Award. They will have the opportunity to have lunch with the principal. The students may earn tickets at school for up to five free events. Tickets can also be purchased in the front office. SCHOLARSHIPS Sterling Scholar GVHS is starting to accept applications for Sterling Scholars. Students who are interested in applying need to pick up an application in the counseling office. Applications are due by September 28. If you have any questions please call or come in. Gunnison Valley Hospital Thursday, October 13 Gunnison Jr. Prom Subway Fund Raiser The Junior Class of Gunnison Valley High School is now having their Fund Raiser to earn money for the Junior Prom. Subway Coupons for a foot long sandwich can be purchased from any member of the junior Class. The coupons are *4.50 and are only valid at the Gunnison Subway. The coupons will only be sold through October 31st but will be valid through the end of November. Your support would be appreciated! |
