Show SOCIAL EVENTS. At Home of Mayor Knighton. , The home of Mayor and Mrs. Joha M, Knighton was on .Monday night made eventful in their acting as host and hostess at a party they so generously gener-ously tendered in honor of the new city officers and ladies, with a few friends. Five tables contested in progressive pro-gressive sixty-three prior to seating at a magnificent supper spread. Various games and a bounteous the company in hilarious humor until far past the midnight hour, Mr. and Mrs, Knighton showed themselves to be ideal entertainers and their Monday Mon-day evening's party was voted the season's social event. Besides the pleasing host and hostess there were present : City Councilmeu M. Beauregard, W. H. Gribble, E. L. Swalberg, H. M. Child?, and their wives ; Recorder Joseph Christeuson and wife, Treasurer Treas-urer Nephi Gledhill and daughter Mrs. A. M. Christeuson, Justice of the Peace J. P. Fjeldsted, Mr. and Mrs. N, C. Sorenson, Mr. and Mrs. William Bardsley. At N. A. Christen son's. One of the most enjoyable social events of the holidays was the New Year's party given by Mrs. Lloyd Anderson and- Mrs. Newell A. Chi is-tenson is-tenson at the home of the latter, last Saturday evening. The guests assembled early and progressive sixty-three was the entertaining enter-taining feature, seven tables beiGg used. The first prizes were won by Miss Ideil Childs and Nei! Sorenson, the booby prizes by Mrs E, L. Swalberg Swal-berg and H. M. Child, A bounteous lunch was served and the table fairly groaned under the weight of good things to eat. Vocal solos were rendered by E, L, Swal-bere Swal-bere and Llovd Andfiraon rflnitat-inna by Mrs. Will Perkins and C. W. Perkins. Larson led in a surprise party par-ty last night, tendered at the home of Mr. aud Mrs. George Percival, who have disposed of their home and contemplate con-template removing, about the lBst of this month, to Berg'.uud, Calif. A nice company gathered and spent a pleasant time in cards, music aud luncheon, separating at a late hour with cupioua expressions of good wishes for the prosperity of the honored hon-ored guests in their new home.
