of this event Is to be complimented w with ath words of praise as aa Is every citizen who assisted in any way even to those who honored us ua with their presence the garfield county sheriff ift melt hatch and city marshall frank haycock who directed the cars where to park instructed them which way to go and started the conclave to the canyon with instructions to stay a certain distance apart and drive idrovo carefully which was in our way of 0 thinking a word of warning and caused the day to be so successful without one accident to mar the pleasure aro to be complimented the affair has caused a feeling of 0 brotherly love to grow between our people and the people of the north east and west that will last forever and we nye are sure that those north of county who depend upon southern utah for a great part of their business will learn to love and respect in a way that heretofore han haa not been vory very prominent regarding such buch affairs as was waa staged in this section monday as we consider that the represent representation tion from the tar far north district was very slim and not what was expected A great many telegrams were received from those who claim to admire us but their appearance was very much lacking as Is usually the case except when it Is to tako take our order tor for somo some goods that they can ship us but some day our ouk people v all learn that it is easy to ship goods gooda via thistle from Deny Donver erand and via cedar or milford from the west coast and when that day comes as it Is bound to come then and not until then will salt lake come to a full sense of 0 realization that there la Is a little stretch of country between sanpete and fredonia Fre donla arizona that la Is donating a considerable portion of their livelihood but then folks up north we had a bully good time and only wish you could have awakened to the tact fact that we wa had that time as te fe would have enjoyed your company but bui then on the other handi hand the salt lake city papers were too busy devoting their front pages to the shrin er era g to pay any attention to a little place like southern utah from i whence they abey got get a large portion ot their broad bread and butter to boost tor ter the opening of such a wonderful place na as bryce canyon with tile tho ox ex option of 0 short article on oil tile tho ln in side of 0 their shoots sheets however Iro wever wo we nto are very thankful to those choso who inneo the effort thoy they lid did to assist in ing tile tho wonderful gathering they did wo can truthfully beato that hat it was tho the largest crowd that has over attended tile tho official opening or of any park or monument in ill this glor glorious loua state of utah therefore we tire are contented and happy we can call rest tit in tile
