Show PROMINENT JUDGE DIES Judge Thomas Marineaux, one oi the leading members of the American Ameri-can Bar and a leader of the Utah Bar died Friday after a brief illness o. pneumonia at his home in Salt Lkac City. The suddenness of Judge Mari-oneax's Mari-oneax's death came as a great shock. Although a sufferer from asthma for a number of years, his condition was not considered serious until i. heavy cough contracted developed into pneumonit.. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. iNettie Marineaux, one daughter, Doi othy Marioneaux of San Francisco, one step-daughter, Mrs. Janice John son of Salt Lake and one brother living liv-ing in Cincinati, Ohio. Funeral services were held Tuesday Tues-day In the Elk's club under the direction direc-tion of the Salt Lake Lodge B. P. O. E. ' He served as district attorney o: the Fifth Judicial district from 189t to 1900 and in 19 00 was elected dis trlct Judge of. the Fifth district where he served until 1904. When a court reporter Judge Mar-oneaux Mar-oneaux was distinguished for hit speed and accuracy and when 19 years of age, won the world's cham pionship in short hand at a contest held in Denver. - |
