Show Arrowhead Trails Association Hold Ho-ld Rousing Meeting Last Saturday at Cedar BEAVER CO. IS WELL REPRESENTED Recomend Early Completion of the Buckhorn-Beaver Road Beaver county was well represented represen-ted in Cedar at the annual meeting of the Arrowhead trails improve-j improve-j ment association last Saturday. J The delegates of the association ! assembled in meeting in the Library auditorium with J. H. Manderfield, president, who called the meeting to order, stating that the first order of , business was the appointment of a Convention chairman and secretary. Upon motion, H. J. Doolittle was appointed Chairman and Miss Janet Rollo was appointed secretary, both parties being of Iron county. H. J. Doolittle then took the chair and called for the report of the com mittee on resolutions and order of business. R. L. Jones, chairman of said committee read the report, which is as follows: "Report of Committee on Resolu-i Resolu-i tions and Business That the order of business of this convention be as follows: 1st Report of committee on credentials. cre-dentials. : 2nd Election of Chairman and Secretary for this Convention. 3rd Address by President J. H. Janderfield. 4 th Brief report by Secretary Big elow on the activities of the Arrowhead Arrow-head Trails Association during 1919 and contemplated work of 1920. 5th Two minute talks by Chairmen Chair-men of each county. 6th General Discussion. 7th Adoption of an Association i emblem and fixing of membership j fee. I 8th Report of Committee on Nomination Nom-ination and election of officers. 9th Be it Resolved, That we request re-quest the incoming President to ap-"i"t ap-"i"t the following committees: 1st. One committee of three for arranging for a distinctive Arrow-I Arrow-I " end Trails Sign, and the putting up of the same along the Trail and all its feeders, and for the securing of ja proper road map and guides for distribution. 2nd. A committee to complete traffic arrangements with the Utah auto association and with the auto club of Southern California and other ; Highways organizations. Lie it resolved that it be the sense of the convention that we request proper authorities to make the road through Buckhorne Flat in a travel-able travel-able condition. Be It Resolved, That we tender a vote of thanks to outgoing officers for energetic services. L'pon motion, the above report was unanimously accepted. J. T. Manderfield was called to the floor and addressed the convention, taking for his subject. "The Arrowhead Trail and its benefits bene-fits to Southern Utah" Secretary Bigelow was called to the floor and gave a report on the "Activities of the Arrowhead Trails Association during 1919 and contemplated contem-plated work for 1920." Two minute talks by the following gentlemen, chairmen of the various delegations: Mr. Win. F. Knox, Beaver county. U. T. Jones of Iron county David Hirschi, Washington county. coun-ty. C. H. Bigelow, for Mr. Griffiths, of Nevada, who was not able to be present. l'pon motion of U. T. Jones, the following Resolution was unanimous ly adopted: Be It Resolved, by the Arrow-head Trails Association assembled, that we hereby tender a vote of thanks to Secretary C. H. Bigelow for his work in promoting the welfare of the .Arrowhead trail. Upon motion of David Hirschi, the following resolution was unanimously unanimous-ly adopted. Be It Resolved by the Arrowhead Arrow-head Trails Association assembled that as an expression of our appreciation appre-ciation of the support accorded the construction and improvement of the Arrow-head Trail by the Hon Governors, Gover-nors, Bamberger of Utah. Campbell of Arizona and Boyle of Nevada, in their respective S'at"s, Hint we h . by tender these gentlemen our thinks for the aid they have given in the furthering of this road. I regret exceedingly that I cannot go down to the meeting but if 1 possibly could I would1 he there a f am very much interested in the work of Wie Association. I am one who is satisfied that our energy should be put to the development of this trail as it is o lead, of course, to he Zion Canyon and the Grand C:in-yon C:in-yon and also to California. ti' w;.
