Show CITY COfXtll., Regular Session of City Council, held -March 4. 1899. Present, Mayor Brown Councilors Jarvis, Foster, Cottam, Miles and Woodbury. Committee on claims reported that the matter of bill of C. R. Worthen for ringing Curfew bell was not fully settled. set-tled. Referred back with power to act. Hermann Faseher appeared and asked ask-ed that he be allowed to carry on photographer's pho-tographer's business without a license, as the business did not warrant the same. Referred to Committee on claim9, etc. Petition of John T. Morse for permission per-mission to dig for water in the street northeast of his residence, referred to Committee of W. W. and W. Rights. The Mayor reported in regard to the petition of J. H. Pearce that he be allowed al-lowed to carry on business of butcher for the three months without a license. Report adopted. The Major appointed Councilor Woodbury as member of the same committees com-mittees as were held by councilor Mc-Quarrie. Mc-Quarrie. Bill of Francis L. Daggett for postal Cards, etc., $5. allowed. Bill of John R. Wallis for printing $4.75, allowed. Bills of Jos. T. Atkin as Marshal, and for labor on ditch $11.25, allowed. The watermaster was instructed to collect $3. rental for year 1S98 of water for Tabernacle grounds. Ordered that fi lots of water be set apart for use on south half of public square, and that trees be put out on said lots for city park. The water tax assessment roll was taken tip, and the tax of the following persons remitted: Rebecca Harmon, Mary A. Bowler. Ann C. Woodbury, 1st Ward school. Mary Forsyth. Ann P. Jarvis.
