Aikiu, reporter. and it has been with me ever since, and I desire to bo live that this testimony may always remain with me. Charles Seegmiller said it is our duty to acknowledge the hand of God in all that He causes to come upon us, for God desires to make of us a people that will love him and keep liis commandments and desired to see the youth of this people live upright and live in such a way that none of them be lost. Casper Bryner said he, too, has a testimony that the gospel is true and has always tried to live in that way that this testimony may never leave him. VThen I como to meeting on the Sabbath day, tired by the labors of the week and partake par-take of the Sacrament and receive of the spirt of the Gospel, and mingle with the saints, he always goes home refreshed m spirit and always feels well paid for coming to meeting. This gospel was brought to the earth by an Angel from God and I know this" Gospel is true and I am very thankful that I am a member of this church. I am desirous of learning more and live closer to God and thus prove to God and my neighbors that I am trying to live worthy of God's blessings. Charles Smith said our travels, as a people, for many years lias created cre-ated a feeling of love for each other, that so long as we retain the the spirit of God, this feeling of love for each other will not only continue but will increase, and this is caused by the true Piinciples of the Gospel implanted within us. It seems strange to me to hear members of this Church say, when they are called to go on missions, that their circumstances were such that they could not go. Priesthood of the third ward administered ad-ministered the Sacrament While the Sacrament was being past the choir sang the Anthem "Lead me gently home Father," which was beautifully rendered. Walter Granger said, I feel much pleasure in meeting with ray brethren and, sisters here in St. George, and to hear the instruction that is given at your conference. We, as a people, are taught the ways of the Lord continually. TFe came to these valleys according to the commandments of God that we might learn more fully the true principles of the Gospel. It is our duty to be careful that we are not led astray by false and delusive spirits. It i3 our privilege to know whether the gospel is true or not I have a testimony that the Gospel taught by the Latter-day Saints is true. I received this testimony when I first embraced the Gospel went and God blessed us in our labors and also our families, and although we went out without purse or scrip, God provided for our necessities and we did not suffer suf-fer for the comforts of life. Those who repent of their sins and are baptized for the remission of their sins and have the hands of the Servants of God laid upon their heads for the reception of the Holy Ghost, and live in accordance with the laws of the Gospel, will receive the Holy Ghost, and it will give them a testimony of the truth of the Gospel. We must act in the place to which we are appointed and not attempt to act in any position to which we are not called. Read section 121 in the Doctrine and Covenants. Choir sang an anthem. i |
