Show I A Change. Some times in the career of peo-. peo-. pie, and passing events, it becomes necessary for changes to take place in various departments of life, in order that business may be better attended to and a unity of labor obtained. Although the village where we are now located is but comparatively small, and many disadvantages dis-advantages present themselves to view, we think wef have many more advantages, which counter-balance H,' the disadvantages enough to war- Hr rant the change, . in moving from St. George to Blooming fcon. There is one main thing we lack here and that is a Post Office; but we live in hopes that the Post Office Depart- '' ment will yet be generous enough to grant one" in the near future, al-Hb. al-Hb. though our hopes may be blasted. Hh ( There is population enough in this ' ' vicinity to warrant the establish es ' ment of a Post Office at Blooming- " ton, it being bufc a short distance from ttie line of the mapxed mail xoHite J&o. 51,154:, f rohi St. George, 'Utah, to St Thomas, NTev., and HL why an office should not have been Hp established long ago, we can see no ' good reason; only, the people did not ask for it. We also need an J enterprising blacksmith, who can "run" a small farm and yet do the fl " shop-work that is needed in the vi- cinity. Also a shoemaker who could " be similarly situated, would be a valuable resident, and there is a splendid opening for the right H persons. . The idea of going 5 or 6 miles to get our mail-matter, to get a shoe mended, or a plow fixed, is indica- 1" tive of a lack of energy to push business and build up the place. So, let us up and be doing ail we can to unite and encourage Home Institutions that shall prove of value, val-ue, to lesson labor and exxense, and mako the most of a little, i 4-. |
