Grooms, city electrician, reported re-ported to the council that repair work on the city electric plant was about completed and that the plant would be in condition to furnish the city power again by the following follow-ing Wednesday or Thursday. Mayor Muycoek reported' that the county sheriff had asked the support sup-port of the city in hiring a speed cop, to spend his time on the roads during the summer months for the purpose of enforcing the automobile automo-bile laws and regulations. Ralph Smart in behalf of the streets committee reported on the progress of the opening up of the street which will extend First East street south as far as the street east of the Jefferson school lie stated that the contracts were practically prac-tically signed up and that it was anticipated that a four-rod street would soon be opened. The matter of enforcing the dog tax law was discussed at length and it was finally decided to hire a census taker of dogs, to ascertain who had dogs in the city that had not paid their license, in order that prosecution might be brought against the offenders of the law.
