Bids for Indian supplies sup-plies were opened to-day in the presence pres-ence of Commissioner Parker, the Indian In-dian commissioners and a large number num-ber of merchants and contractors from all parts of the country. One hundred and forty bids were received from all the leafing cities, extending west to Chevenne. The prices of beef on hoof ranged from 2.60 to ?5 per hundred; bacon from 10 to 13 cents; flour from 3 to 6 cents per pound, western delivery; de-livery; coffee from 15s to IS cents; sugar su-gar from 10 to 15 cents; tobacco from 59 to C'5 cents: soap from 3.75 to 9.06 considering the quality. The goods offered both in these supplies and annuity an-nuity goods purchased last week at the above prices, are considered very low by traders. |
