The apartment in this story is only for the accommodation accommoda-tion of females, and one of the class is serying out a fifteen days' term in the said apartments for drunkenness. Ross had become aware of this fact, and crawled ap the stairs and awakened the inmate from a peaceful and innocent inno-cent slumber, but here he was stopped by ollicers Strong and White who had evidently tumbled to Ross' racket and quickly invited him into the marshal's mar-shal's room, where he deposited $25 in cash and his watch as bonds for his appearance on Monday morning before be-fore Justice Noon. At 9:30 o'clock Monday morning he ippeared, but an important witness bein absent the case was postponed until Tuesday morning, when he wag sentenced to pay a fine of $20. which he forked over. |
