Show PROHIBITION IS A STIMULANT TO BUSINESS, BUT AGITATION IS DESTRUCTIVE. We have presented to our readers sufficfont and convincing proof that cities which hnve no saloons are more prosperous than cities which havo high licence; yet every one of these cities has had to pass through the ordeal of agitation that closed the 6aloons. Tho mother is more happy with her little one in her arms than she was without It, yet she passed near death's door to got what makes her supromelv happy. The agitation to close the saloon in Utah was started by the Herald-Republican, Herald-Republican, at that time the Inter-Mountain Inter-Mountain Republican, nearly three years ago, and that agitation will con-tinuo con-tinuo In "Utah until tho Baloons aro closed. It matters not that the home builders may be defeated once, twice or thrice, they are going right on. Utah has a larger percentage of church-going people than any state in the Union, and we bolleve every Protestant Pro-testant church in the state (possibly one oxceptlon) has enlisted In this fight. The leaders of those churches aro in oarnest, and It is only a question of timo. The saloons must go In Utah! In the meantime the acitation will continue and business will be interfered inter-fered with. If you believe tho saloons should go, get to work; let ub closo them now, that business may resume her natural course. |
