Show Crop Insurance Date Set The final date for acceptance of "all risk" crop insurance applications app-lications on the 1940 winter wheat crop is August 31, Orviile L. Lee, member of the Utah State AAA committer and Federal Crop insurance representative " for tna state, announced Tuesday. Mr. Lee says that winter wheat growers who want to insure their crops against all hazards should remember two things. First, they must aPPly for the insurance and pay the premium before the crop is seeded. Second, no applications applica-tions will be accepted after tlie closing date. Premiums may be paid in wheat, cash, or by assignment on the farmers Agricultural Conservation Conserva-tion payment. The deadline applies only to winter wheat. Since the program is built upon the principal that cooperating farmers "chip in' to build up a reserve against crop losses, U ''a important that all farmers in the program have an even chance. The date was set earlier this year to give a more even chance to winter wheat farmers who wish, to Insure. It is not fair to all the farmers in the program to let some farmers far-mers see how things are going to turn out before they insure their wheat crop, Mr. Lee pointed out. Farmers themselves pay tha losses. This makes it important that yields and rates that are fair to all farmers be set up on tha individual farms, he said. |
