Show THE OTHER morning a heavily laden wagon was being drawn along Main street by a span of horses; when the wheels of the vehicle cut through the ice at Second street corner, and prevented further progress. The animals were urged by their driver, but instead of being able to draw the load, they both slipped down on the ice, became entangled in their own harness, and for a few moments it seemed as if serious damages would result. Assistance was obtained, however; the horses were taken from the wagon, the load was removed and the ice taken away from the wheels; and then all went merrily forward. |
