Show NOTED MONK DEAD. The death Is reported of Father Michele da Carbonara, Franciscan monk, who was for many years a missionary mis-sionary in the Italian colony of Erith-rea, Erith-rea, and of which he was Apostolic Prefect, rendering in this capacity eminent em-inent services to the government. He founded there many schools and a semniary for the African boys wishing to devote themselves to the priesthood. His death Is keenly regretted by both the Vatican and the government. He was one of the few priests who have been commemorated in the Italian Ital-ian parliament. Steps are already have been taken for the appointment of his successor, who will be a Capuchin monk. The body of the deceased will be brought to Rome and placed in the burial vault of the Capuchins in Piazza Barberini: |
