Show Fresh Fruit. Many people think tbfy cannot eat fresh fruit and berries; they say they become ill, and ruffer from vanods complaints If they do. The trouble Is usually this. Americans cook too much; have so much fat meat, cake and pie, that the btom-ach btom-ach Is overloaded with things bard of dlgcttlon. The fruit and berries are usually eaten after a hearty meal, either at the close of it, or between be-tween meal. The stomach after being ovcrworled to dispose of a hot meat supper is In the evening often filled up again with a variety of fruit. The consequence Is, "fruit doesu't agree" with these who eat it in this manner. Fresh fruit and berries in their season tbould be upon every table at every meal. Kat them with tbe meal, cat as you eat other food, and never eat between meals, 'woa" you will fled fruit agrees with and Is f:ood for everybody. Eat fruit nstead of pie, with good brown bread and butter, and let berries take the place of cake, and you will be spared the agonies of dyspepsia. Fresh meat In hot Weather Is feverish fe-verish and weakening. The trained athlete of old abstained from flesh to acquire greater strength; and the I porters or carriers of Constantinople and Rio Janlero, who carry weights of five or six hundred pounds on their shoulders a long distance, are vegetarians. The Italians lite mostly on fruit, and are hardy and Industrious. Fruit is more nutritious nutri-tious than is usually supposed.
