Or just donate to the Red Cross hurricane relief fund if you don't want to hear some great local music on a Saturday night." Publishing opportunities UVSC students looking to have their work published will have a variety of different opportunities within the English department this faU. • Touchstones, UVSC's creative magazine, will be accepting submissions of poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, art and photography through September 30. The official submission entry form will be made available in the English department (LA 114). Creative opportunities are made further available by Warp and Weave, UVSC's speculative fiction magazine. Warp and Weave will similarly be accepting submissions of art, poetry and prose regarding fantasy, science fiction or anything else of a speculative nature through September. Quire, UVSC's academic English journal, seeks student scholarly writing on literature, language, theory and communication. Students are encouraged to submit applicable course work that they feel is particularly strong. Since Quire will not be published until next semester, the submission deadline will not be until sometime in November. Touchstones and Warp and Weave are published twice per year, once every fall and spring semester. Quire is currently being published annually, every spring semester. This year's edition of Touchstones is an important one; it promises to be a little bit different than issues past, inspired by the tragic deaths of former Touchstones staff members Blake Donner and Jen Galbraith. The specifics of what this might mean are not fully realized, and submissions will still be accepted in the usual manner. To find out additional specifics about any of these journals, past issues are always available in the English department. Submission forms for each of these publications will also be available in the English department. For more information regarding any of these magazines, contact Don Levange in LA 114.
