The Vikings of the Month for October are Spencer Diehl, Hannah Bel-liston, Bel-liston, Spencer Pincock, Shelby Smith, Jeremy Jensen and Janessa Gray. Photo courtesy of Timpanogos Times by Angle Walker The Vikings of the Month for October are sophomores, Spencer Diehl and Hannah Bel-liston, Bel-liston, juniors, Spencer Pincock and Shelby Smith, and seniors, Jeremy Jensen and Janessa Gray. Spencer Diehl, born on June 19, is 15 years old. He has lived in Lindon since he was two years old. Spencer plays the guitar, likes basketball, and hangs out with friends. Spencer is the second oldest of six children. chil-dren. Spencer was nominated two months in a row for Viking of the Month by two teachers. He enjoys math and science and is currently taking Physics. Spencer wants to go to BYU after af-ter he graduates. He has lived in Lindon since two years old. Hannah Belliston was born on St. Patrick's Day in 1995. She is the youngest of two girls born to Jeff and Bonnie Belliston. Bellis-ton. She is a good student and teachers have known she is very dependable. Hannah's hard work is not only evident in her school work. She started clogging clog-ging at the age of five and continued con-tinued until she was 10. During those five vears she advanced from a beginning clogger to a professional level clogger, dancing with the college kids. Hannah received recognition as . a Junior All American Clogger at a regional competition. Hannah is also an excellent pianist. Hannah began studying the piano at five years old with her mom as her teacher and she is currently studying with Jill Winters of Lindon. She practices prac-tices a minimum of an hour and a half a day, six days a week. A little over a year ago began teaching a few students of her own. In her spare time, Hannah likes to read and watch movies. She enjoys many kinds of books including historical fiction, fantasy and some classic literary liter-ary works. Unlike her mom, Hannah's very willing to read a book multiple times. She is a great storyteller and keeps her family entertained at the dinner table. Hannah has a great sense of humor and one of her favorite sayings is, "Oh foo-diddley". Spencer Pincock was born in November 1993. He loves sports, music, snowboarding, the beach, movies, friends and family. He also loves history, art and literature. Spencer started start-ed grade school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania while his dad was in dental school. He learned to love US History out there, visiting vis-iting places like Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Valley Forge, Gettysburg, and some places in New York City as well. Spencer began playing football, basketball and baseball when he was young. He led his eighth grade PG football team to the UCFC Championship game as their quarterback. As stalling quarterback and starting start-ing safety for the PG Freshman team, he was the second leading lead-ing rusher with 900 yards, eight touchdowns, three for seven touchdowns and had two or three interceptions. Spencer loved playing basketball bas-ketball for Coach Gunter last year on the sophomore team. He was given the "Coaches Award" for his quiet leadership, hard work and toughness. He was told by the coach he was the best defender. He never missed a practice . He was the first one there and the last one to leave. He hopes to play on the varsity basketball team with Coach McAllister this coming season. Spencer plays the drums and guitar, likes to write poetry, and loves to read. Spencer is good about many things, but the best thing about him is he doesn't know it. He has a good heart and is easy going. Shelby Smith was born in Utah. She's lived in Pleasant Grove most of her life. She is the oldest child. She did elementary el-ementary and junior high at Mt. Mahogany and Lincoln Academy. Acad-emy. Shelby loves to read and spends a lot of time in Canada with family. She likes to travel. Two years ago she travelled with her Spanish class to Peru for an educational trip and got to see Machu Picchu. This year she did a river rafting trip down the Grand Canyon with her family. She out fished the seasoned fisherman. fish-erman. She was the one catching catch-ing fish and the older gentlemen who have fished their whole lives would come to her spot and asked her what she was using, us-ing, so we ate fish every night on the river. Shelby is very thoughtful, kind and shy with people she doesn't know. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is in the Service Club at the high school. Shelby is methodical methodi-cal and quiet, but she knows how to get her point across. Shelby is a good communicator and she is a good peacemaker. She is a very good goal setter. Her hobbies are fishing, riding horses, watch movies, and likes her pet dogs. Her mom said, "Shelby's wonderful in our family and very dedicated to her school work." Jeremy Jensen was born October 29, to Erik and Valerie Valer-ie Jensen. He is the second of three children. Jeremy has lived in Pleasant Grove his entire life, which he is proud of. His favorite fa-vorite color is blue even though he works at Purple Turtle. Jeremy Jer-emy is currently on the Student Council and enjoys going to all the sporting events. He was instrumental in-strumental in setting up and organizing or-ganizing light the "G" project, of which his parents are very proud of him for. Jeremy helped create and maintains the student council website as well as the video announcements in the student center. Jeremy loves cross country and running and beating beat-ing his dad. Some of his hobbies hob-bies are photography, graphic design, architecture, listening to music, hanging out with friends and family. He is also an Eagle Scout. Jeremy loves going to Pleasant Grove High School and the association he has with his friends, student council, and teachers. "We love him very much and are so pleased with all his accomplishments so far in his life," said his parents. par-ents. Janessa Gray is the youngest young-est of five. She has four older brothers who think she is pretty special. She started dancing at the age of three and has been dancing ever since. When she was four, she was asked to participate par-ticipate on a competition team. She was quiet and shy so her mom thought it would be a good thing. Janessa has been on the drill team and Dance Company all three years in high school. She is a senior officer on both teams. Janessa works hard at her school work. Janessa 's works hard to maintain main-tain a 4.0. She has had perfect attendance also the whole time she has been in school. Between dance practice before and after school, she works part time at Town Cinemas. Cin-emas. Janessa can beat anyone any-one at Wii in bowling and wake boarding. She holds the record. Her favorite thing to eat is peach pie. After graduation gradua-tion she wants to go to college, serve a mission, find her prince charming, have a family of her own and live happily ever after. |
