Or shall they live again in newer lives and bring in beauty for other days! G. F. halfluick Stan Sur for saving the game in the dwindling seconds. With less than a minute remaining, the Mustangs had possession of the pigskin, but a fumble resulted on an attempted handoff in the backfield. South Summit's Jim Biglow picked up the loose ball and had three blockers and a clear field ahead. With Sur in pursuit, tackle Calvin Kirkham missed a block on the little speedster who raced on to down Biglow on Dugway 's d line. The Wildcats got off two quick plays before the final horn sounded giving the jubilant Mustangs a taste of victory. SOUTH SUMMIT received the game's opening kickoff and wasted no time in breaking the ice. The Wildcats drove 70 yards to paydirt in 11 plays with Kent Fitzgerald taking a handoff and plunging over on- - the right side from one yard out. His kick for the extra point was low and South kept a 6-- lead. The two teams then exchanged punts, before Dugway got its TD drive underway. The Mustangs moved the ball 80 yards for their touchdown with fullback Terry Foote's jaunt being the key play of the drive. On the first play of the second quarter, Sur passed to end Eugene McClure in the end zone for the score. Danny Anderton deflected the pass for Dugway with McClure making the catch for his fifth TD snag of the season. Half-Iwc- k James Jefferies slanted through the left side of the line for the extra point giving Dugway its first lead of the season, That's the way it stood at halftime. Dugway's Bruce McCullough recovered a Wildcat fumble early in the second half to start the Mustangs on their second TD drive which covered 45 yards. The big plays in the drive were passes of nine and 10 yards from quarterback Mike Golden to halfback William Church. Golden scored the touchdown on a one-yafake d through left guard. The run for the extra point was fumbled, accounting for the final 13-- 6 score. FROM THIS point until the final hectic minute, both teams were plagued with "fumblitis" killing all important drives. Dug- -' way was hit hardest by the football disease as they fumbled seven times and lost six of them during the game. South Summit lost the On out most of the third period with an injured left leg. Sur toted the ball five times for 46 yards, while Golden added 31 yards in seven carries. Church picked up 20 yards in 10 carries for the Mustangs. Carrying the brunt of the defensive load for the Mustangs were Bruce McCullough, Lloyd Neilson, Virgil Johnson, Roger Outran, Mark Hereim, Jess W actor and Clyde Rassmussen. The Yardstick!
