A newspaper reporter re-porter Is in duty bound to hunt up Items of local news and give them to the public. Most business men appreciate appre-ciate this fact, aud give him a courteous cour-teous interview when he calls on them, and, if not too busy, cheerfully give a minute or two of their precious time and tell them all they kuow of the Item he Is Inquiring about. But there Is once In a while some bigtoed, narrow-minded cuss, who, by his actions, sterns to think that the editor's in-qu in-qu ries are an intrusion, and as soon as he sees him come in, shuts up like a clam, looks sullen, and refuses to answer any inquiry except in mono-sylables. mono-sylables.
