Show c u i X 1 SOUTHERN UTAH STATE COLLEGE A PAID SUPPLEMENT TO THE THUNDERBIRD FROM THE ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF ASSUSC OFFICERS A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT WINTER QUARTER OFFICE HOURS ASSUSC leader Stuart Jones looks forward to winter quarter Trixie Adams Secretary Daily; 3 to 5 together. Our philosophy has been: students helping students, and, with the kind of support that weve received (in terms of attendance, assistance and suggestions), we know we can accomplish great heights this final quarter. It is this kind of support that has led to the establishment of the Student Service Center, which provides services in areas such as legal typewriter rentals, test preparation tapes, even services, a student book exchange, and donuts and hot chocolate during finals week. This quarter, with the support of many students, we will be offering activities and dances that we feel will be appealing to a wide variety of people on campus. The ASSUSC, with the help of various clubs and a organizations, will hold for the first time Winter Wonderland Week. Also planned this quarter are: a vacation competition, giveaway for two, a and a game show night. In keeping with T.A.G. tradition, we will also hold our quarterly and College Bowl competitions, making this our best quarter yet. Our Student Senate has, feel, been very effective these past two quarters in their allocation of money. They also have various other projects which they are working on. Among these are reviewing student fee advisor-studeallocations, registration procedures, of effectiveness the relationships, and evaluations. teacher This quarter also brings with it the ASSUSC elections, which the ASSUSC senate will be overseeing. highly encourage those who may have an interest to run for an office or apply for an Executive Council position. can vouch for the personal reward of serving, as well as that of seeing the efforts of students involved in the direction of this school. The bonds for the the all been sold and the architects have building have been appointed. The ground breaking should take place sometime this April and the date for completion is set for the end of our next school year. If you have any questions or suggestions concerning the new student center, please come into the student offices and let us know about them. Finally, as your student leaders, we join with the Institutional Council of SUSC in an effort to create and heighten the image of SUSC. For this reason, the Admissions Office, along with the ASSUSC, will be offering a high school leadership conference to expose students throughout the state to this college. Furthermore, thank the advisers and presidents of the 44 active clubs on campus who, through their efforts, are expanding the image of SUSC in a positive way. On behalf of all of us in student government this year, we appreciate the support we receive and pledge our pledge our most diligent effort to the end.
