Show THEp Thursday, December 7, 1978 5 Page 9 by QuicksilverG Whip Those Winter Winds In Return of the Pink Panther. Inspector Clouseau once again finds himself facing his most dangerous adversary, himself. Clouseau played again by Peter Sellers, is determined to track down the thief of the magnificent diamond, the Pink Panther, and proceeds with a hilarious investigation. The Return of the Pink Panther, the first of the latest spate of Pink Panther films, will be shown at the Kimball Art Center this Friday, Dec. 8. Clouseau is one of the funniest characters ever to hit the screen. Many of the gags are old and should be stale, but Sellers performs them in such an understated and deadpan fashion that the audience is taken by surprise. Indeed, from Clouseau's first scene (where he pokes himself in the eye with his own nightstick) to the last, the inspector cuts a humorous trail of destruction right to the "Crook." The success of The Return of the Pink Panther film has led to the release of several more Clouseau films, but Return is the only one of the sequels to come up to the standards of the Original Pink Panther and A Shot in the Dark. Clouseau will invade the Kimball Art Center this Friday at 8:00 p.m. CROSSWORD . PUZZLE TODAY 'S ANSWER var. Now builders in the area can give new home buyers the chance to keep their fuel bills low and stay warm, too. The solution may be in the form of urethane which can be twice as effective for insulation in-sulation as conventional fiberglass fib-erglass batting. Spence Smith, project manager for the Park Meadows subdivisions, is building the first house in Park City with urethane insulation in-sulation in the wall construction. construct-ion. The energy saving house also will incorporate doors with magnetic seals and double-paned windows. The house's insulated walls were made in the form of 4' x 8' panels by Insulated Structural Systems of Nephi. Panel frames of 2" x 4" construction con-struction are filled with 3 of urethane foam which eliminates those air leaks in walls that cause drafts and rob a house of heat. The factory fac-tory custom makes the panels to fit the house's architectural ar-chitectural design, including holes lor electrical outlets, electrical raceways and door and window openings. A builder simply installs the numbered panels in the correct location and the walls are up. Gene Austin, marketing agent for Insulated Structural Struc-tural Systems, says that it takes only a day for a three-man three-man crew to set the panels for the average 2,000-sq.-ft. house. The walls also are sturdier, with two and a half times the vertical support strength of conventional 2" x 4" construction. Heat loss calculations conducted by Utah Power & Light Co. show that a home constructed with the urethane insulated walls can be heated with half the energy that a home with an equal thickness of fiber glass batting. This means not only lower fuel bills but also that a smaller, less expensive furnace can be used to heat a house. Builders in Salt Lake City and Provo are already offering of-fering urethane insulated homes to the energy conscious con-scious house buyer. Though the urethane panels built by Insulated Structural Systems are used mostly for normal homes they have been used for less ordinary construction. Kecentlv, the Utah com pany's wall panels were used in the construction of a new solar heated city hall in Craig, Colorado. And the University of Utah just built a sun-tracking solar testing unit out of the panels. The unit tests the efficiency of solar cells by measuring heat collected in a urethane insulated box. Austin admits that homes built with the urethane insulated in-sulated panels have a slightly higher price tag but he says the savings in fuel bills quickly compensates the owner. k li-i 4 ! PT I .
