Zang worked for Chipper Cartage Company of Peoria, where he later became president. He has been on special assignment with FB since last September in Denver but will move to Salt Lake City to head up the sales department. Beehive Posts Record Sales; Contract Signed for Equipment SALT LAKE Beehive International (OTC 10.25, 11.00), a Utah manufacturer of computer systems and peripheral equip- ment, reported record levels in earnings per share, income after taxes and net sales for the first quarter of fiscal 1977. For the quarter ending Dec. 31, income after taxes increased 87 percent from $140,769 for the same quarter last year, to $264,027 in 1977. Revenues for the same period are up 60 percent, from $2,514,790 last year to $4,028,172. Net earnings per share likewise increased from 15 cents to 28 cents per share, or 47 percent. Beehive president, Warren Clifford, said the companys December orders exceeded $3 million, a record December for the company. In December, Beehive signed . an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) agreement with Collins Commercial Telecommunications, Dallas, for two of Beehives computer terminals. The Beehive terminals will link with Collins computer equipment and will become part of their automatic call distribution center. As specified in the OEM contract, original equipment may be modified, added to, or manufactured with the buyers name on the terminal and then resold. The Collins contract represents the single largest purchase Collins has placed with Beehive to date. A spokesman for Beehive said the company has backlogged orders in excess of $25 million. Valtek Incorporated (OTC 6.50, 7.00) PROVO, control valve manufacturer, has anautomatic nounced plans for the manufacture of Valtek products in Auckland, New Zealand. Charles L. Bates, Valtek president, said that licensing negotiations have been completed with Automatic Accessories (N.Z.) Limited, an affiliate of Automatic Accessories Pty. Ltd. of Melbourne, Australia, which has manufactured and marketed Valtek control valves for the past eight years. We are pleased to announce that arrangements with our licensee and the New Zealand government will permit an early start-u- p of operations in New Zealand," said Bates. The new plant will be the fifth in a growing list of Valtek operations worldwide. Others are located in the United States, Canada, Australia and Great Britain. With an extensive new 130,000 square-foo- t interna- tional headquarters now under construction in Springville, Utah, Valtek is broadening its base of opera tions both in the United States and abroad. A 10,000 square-foo- t salesmainten-anceassembl- y center is also now under construction in Houston, Texas; and the firm's licensee in Great Britain, Valtek Engineering Ltd., recently completed a plant of the same size in Pershore, England.
