Two years ago the city officials had the dumping ground cleaned and the accumulation of rubbish pushed into the wash. Since that time, there has been an unbelievable lot of garbage dumped in a large areea including a portion of the bench and the approaches to Basin Hill. This condition is unnecessary and shows the carelessness of a number of citizens. There is ample room in the wash and it can be reached very easily, the rubbish ia out of the way and the road ways can be used to the side of the wash, if each person will do his share in disposing of the garbage, in its place. At the presentt ime the officials of the city are going to the expense of once more cleaning up the dump and scraping the rubbsh into the wash. They are having a row of posts placed at the north side of the wash to desig nate a road way betw een the w ash and the posts in the hope that the people will use the roadway as a drive to the wash and not as a dump. The Council is printing a notice on the regulations of the dump grounds in this issue. You are requested to carefully read the notice and do your share in keeping the reguatilons and observing city and county ordinances, requiring the dumping of garbage in the designated area. Your in keeping the dumping grounds in good condition is asked by Mayor Taylor and his council . If necessary, those who are careless and do not observe the rules will be arrested and fined. Watchmen will be placed at the dump and the guilty parties turned over to the proper authorities. City officials are sponsoring a cleanup drive for the summer to make Lehi a clean town. Church or a Beehive organization. Lehi stake will observe the anniversary week of May 4th to May 14th inclusive. e The Girls' Organization (Sister organization to the Boy Scouts in the L. D. S. Church) is a system of activities for the youngest group of the girls or the M. I. A. It is both spiritual and practical in its scope. It possesses all of the attractions of National Girl movements, and in addition has as its outstanding quality, the faith-ideapecular to Latter-da- y Saints. It is developed around the e, as portraysymbolism of the ed in that beautiful poetic version, 'The Life of the Bee" by Maurice Maeterlinck. The central idea which colors and influences all phases of the plan is "The Spirit of the Hive," sym bolizing that subtle power which maetrlnck so vividly describes as the directing force in a hive of bees. To make the Spirit of the Hive a potent force in the lives of our young Mutual Improvement girls, bringing to them Faith. Knowledge, Health, Beauty, Truth, Joy, letting them feel the satisfaction which comes through Work and Service; revealng to them the glory of Girlhood and Womanhood, is our great objective. e Since its beginning in 1915, the been has Girls' Organizaton marked bv steadv srowth. Its mem bership no is 15,000. It has become International in its scope. There are e Girls throughout the United South in Canada, Mexico, States, America, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Holland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Hawaii.
