Kay Gordon Owen, Salt Lakes TV and radio personality has come up with a good definition of The Executive. I thought it was clever and Id like to pass it on to you. As everyone knows, an executive has practically nothing to do. Except to decide what is to be done to tell someone to do it to listen to reasons why it should not be done why it should be done by someone else or why it should be done in a different way. To follow up to see if the thing has been done to discover that it has not been done to listen to excuses from the one who should have done it to follow up a second time to see if the thing had been done, only to discover That it has been done but done wrongly to point out how it should have been done to wonder if its not time to get rid of the person who cannot do a thing correctly to reflect that the person at fault has a wife and seven children. To give the task to someone else to do to be told by that person that he wasnt hired to do that type of work to tell some one else to do it only to be asked why he doesnt tell the other guy to do it and then To consider how much simpler and better the thing would have been done had he done it himself in the first place in twenty minutes but as things worked out he spent two days trying to find out why someone else had taken three weeks to do it wrong but he couldnt do it himself because such an action would strike at the very foundation on the belief on the part of the employee that an executive has nothing to do. -- I remember the day when the coin of the realm was the dollar bill. The thing to do was to carry a lot of money with you when you went on a trip and pay for everything cash. When the money ran out you went home. It was simple as that. But not anymore. The thing to do now, is to carry a few greenbacks for various and sundry items as tips, parking meters, cigarettes and other small items. All other expenditures now are made by the credit card system. For thirty days you can live like a king and then you either cough up or your credit cards are taken away from you and you go back to handling filthy money again. I am sure that all men have one time or another been worried about losing their wallets with their money in it. Losing a wallet containing, say a hundred dollars is a minor catastrophe in itself. But what would happen if you lost your wallet with a fist full of credit cards contained therein. This could end up to be a calamity of gigantic proportions. Some unscrupulous individual could find it and take a trip around the world, using your credit cards and guess who would pay the tab eventually? Perhaps you read about the nineteen year old kid who took such a trip recently and lived it up via the credit card system. I almost panic when I think that he could have done it with my credit cards, if he had found my wallet after I lost it. A little far fetched I know but stranger things have happened. This is a real nutty world you know. Well anyway, Ive got the solution to prevent anything like this happening. The other night I typed a telegram to each company who has issued me a credit card. In the telegram I gave them my card number and stated that my credit card had been lost or stolen and that they should not honor it under any circumstances. This will relieve me of all responsibility, you see. So now my mind is at ease. The minute I lose my wallet I send the telegrams by a credit card and if my wallet is stolen or lost I wont have a credit card to use in sending the wires and I dont carry any money with me. Oh well, Ill think of another system. Page 3 (White) Mk 7 Was $229.95 Now - $i 5995 mum 1959 Ref rig. - Auto Defrost 2-d- oor 120 Lb.
