Merlin Mackay cf Bennion has finished his basic training and has started his training in the field of automotive mechanics. This training will last for four months then he will be home to stay. Harold H. West, George M. Meisel Named Engineers Harold H. West and George M. Meisel have been appointed design engineers at the Western Mining Divisions engineering department of Kennecott Copper Corporation, it was announced today by S. D. Michaelson, chief engineer. A native of Lehi, Utah, Mr. West received his degree in electrical engineering from the University of Utah in 1943. Before joining Kennecott, he was employed as a test engineer with General Electric Company and in electronics work for the Bureau of Reclamation in Denver. He was also an installation engineer for Westinghouse Electric Corporation. During World War II, Mr. West served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by Kennecott as a designer in 1957. Mr. Meisel, a native of Vienna, Austria, graduated with a major in technology and a minor in hydraulics from the Vienna Technical Institute. After leaving Austria, he was employed as a plant engineer for Continental Mining Corporation, as plant design engineer for Climax Mloybdenum Corporation, and as chief engineer and assistant manager for the Colorado Iron Works in Denver, Colorado. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the Counter Intelligence Corps The membership drive sponsored by the Plymouth PTA was a huge success.
