Money affects how people feel about themselves and others. It is also one of the greatest causes of family discord. Improve your skills in this crucial area by attending a series of workshops starting Sept. 12. Investing two hours a week for seven Thursdays can substantially increase your knowledge and confidence in making financial decisions. The workshops are sponsored by the Utah County office of Utah Extension. State University Sessions will cover organizing important records, spending plans, money leaks, credit, insurance, investing, preparing for change, and legal issues. Participants work on their personal priorities. Classes are organized for learning from professionals and peers. The focus of the series of workshops is education, no products or companies will be promoted. Daytime classes are 10 a.m. to noon in the Historic County Dance group opens season Dancing Friends is planning its first dance of the new season. Sept. 20, the orchestra will be Dennis Miner's and the dress is "better dress." It will be held at the Eldred Center, 270 W. 500 North, Provo. Dance instruction begins at 7:45 p.m. and ends at 8:45, at which time regular dancing begins. There will be a floor show and refreshments at 10 p.m. The dance ends at 11:45 p.m. The price at the door is $10 per couple or S6 for student couples.
