one desires to give himself a real treat he should drop in on Dr Joseph Salvatore's French class during the second period in Room 10 It is worth many laughs just to watch the looks on the faces of the many bewildered students as they try to figure out what in the world Dr Salvatore Is saying and then try to construct sentences that are grammatically correct in the light of the few rules and many exceptions to these rules that have been put forth in the class heretofore The class got off to an easy start Everyone learned how to say 'The village is in the valley" and '1 am on the village square” within a matter of hours but when it comes to saying something like ‘1 am on the village square riding my little gray donkey and listening to the gossips who are standing near the water fountain” it’s a different story After everyone in the class becomes proficient in the use of the language the students will enroll in the followup class French 101 (The writing of French Love poems) After that a trip to France would be an interesting affair Laying the jests aside however the study of language is especially important in this day and age when the world is getting smaller and the people are brought closer together because of the fast means of transportation there is a need for a student to be able to speak more than one language Language is a barrier that has to be overcome if we are to establish good diplomatic relations the more people we have we can speak foreign languages the better we will be able to understand foreign countries thus insuring our position in the world today where diplomacy and understanding are necessities for world peace BEST WISHES TO FIRST NATIONAL CARBON COLLEGE BANK COMPLETE BANKING Member F D I of Price SERVICE C and F R B New Registration
