FISH LAKE Hundreds of: members of the Utah Sportsmen's Sports-men's association, Jed by President Presi-dent H. B Makin of Provo, at' tended the business meeting of tne annual "sportsmen's outing. Which got underway here Satur- flay.' -' "Mr. Makin presided at the nnfeeting, attended by representa Uvea ' from every section " f the state. Problems pertinent in Utah fish and game circles were discussed. dis-cussed. 'Ernest L. Hansen, president of the Provo Conservation association, associa-tion, and other Provo representatives representa-tives were present. It was recommended rec-ommended by members of the Provo delegation that the state association set aside funds for various uses during the year, then adhere strictly to the bud get. It has been charged by sportsmen in the past that funds allocated for fish planting have been used for other purposes, the Provoans pointed out. Provo sportsmen also suggested suggest-ed that a quantity of German Brown fish be planted in the Provo river, stating that this specie has proved better suited to the Provo than the ordinary rainbow trout. Dancing and other festivities at Skougaard's Lodge concluded the program Saturday. The outing out-ing will be concluded today, with the sportsmen and their families participating in fishing, hiking and other outdoor activities. Whitesides Named Aggie Frosh Coach LOGAN Joe Whitesides. Bar River high school coach and former for-mer all-conference end on the Utah Aggie football team, has signed to replace Kent Ryan as freshman fresh-man coach at Utah State for the 1937-38 season. Ryan, appointed to the position last spring, has resigned to continue his studies at Harvard school of business. Whitesides will report to Bear River high to get football drills underway, then will leave to assume as-sume his new duties when the collegiate col-legiate football season starts. Either Lyle Tripp or Joe Mabey, Utah Aggie gridders of last year, will replace Whitesides at Bear River. $R 7R f; mm m i i4 o RANGE. . - 1 Ypu Save? fa; i i f 3 1 - . i ; i |
