Show 25 Per Cent of Farms Have Electric Service Approximately one farm in every four now has high line electric service, serv-ice, while only one farm out of every ev-ery nine had electricity in 1935. A total of 1,700,000 farms now have electricity, according to the estimate recently made by the Rural Electrification Elec-trification administration, as compared com-pared with 743,954 in 1935. The REA has brought electricity to a total of 400,000 farms since its inception in 1935. More than half of these farms, or 225,000, were connected con-nected up in 1939, when the agency received $140,000,000. It had previously previ-ously been geared to a $40,000,000-a-year program, and this year it is again being cut to the 40 million level. Percentage of U.
