To the Editor I feel that as a citizen of West Jordan, that all of us should become more involved in the government of the city snd show more interest in the public activity of our fellow citizens. As a candidate for the city council, 1 have formed some opinions about some ways to better our city council and its associations with the citizens. But. I have not formed these I opinions by just attending a few city council meetings. Iwe attended city council meetings for the past two years; sometimes, the council and muself being the only people, in attendance. I feel that government is for the people and should be of the people. So I ask you as citizens of West Jordan to be more involved and come help our government work. I also feel that if the citizens don't come to the government that the government should go to the people. So 1 give thanks to this paper for helping to bring the government to the people, by reporting city council meetings. I feel that we should all have an equal voice in government. There must be pros and con's to each action and the council should try to hear both sides and then make their decisions. But, their decisions should be for the good of the majority. It is poor government that lets the minority control the actions of the people. 1 feel this is one reason our national government is in trouble, today. I don't want to see this " 'Vest Jordan. I have formed my own opinions concerning the zoning laws, police, water, sewer, and streets departments and I am very much interested in sharing my opinions with you.
