'We hope everybody will come to the open house planned Friday evening, February 20 and Saturday afternoon, Feb. 21. In the evenings, luncheon will be served from 7 to 9 p. m. and Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5 p. m. Musical programs will be featured both days and Saturday afternoon the quilt made by ladies of the auxiliaries under direction of Mrs. Bill Forrest and Mrs Vic Bott will be given away. It will not be necessary to be present to win and other door prizes that will be given both days. Tickets, at $1, are on sale by Mrs Josephine Buchanan and American Legion members. Proceeds from the open house wll be used for purchasing things needed to beautify the War Memorial home. Beatrice Durfee visited her mother on Sunday. Wayne Barnes has been staying in Almo the past ten days doing chores, while Buddy and Marion have been ill with the flu. Mrs. Beth Jones reports that her brother, Joe Durfee is home from Korea and has his discharge. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar H. Rosa have returned home after a six weeks trip to Texas and California. They are living in Snow-villat the present time. LaRue Yates has been having a quilting bee at her home this week. Those helping quilt were Sarah Bues, Grace, Ina, Reta, Luella and Twilia. Mrs. Bues from Blackfoot, Idaho has been visiting with LaRue the past two weeks. A number of local people attended the R.E.A. party Tuesday. Lenore Rose was the only one from Standrod to receive a prize, which was a $5.00 certificate at Phillips 66 station. Wallace Spencer was voted in as a new board member. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Rose and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Barnes attended funeral services for Olive Barnes in Rupert, Monday. Mr. and Mrs. James Tracy have been Brigham City callers this week. The M.I.A. sponsored a dance and basket lunch Tuesday evening. All the fellows bid on the baskets and ate supper with the lady that held that number. February 6th was Mrs. J. W. Barnes anniversary. birthday February 5 was Valene Montgomerys birthday and also Irene Gills birthday. Ida Mae Miseday changed her name to Mrs. Myron L. Gill the latter part of January. Ervin Jones, Calvin Mclntire, Asael Oman, Jesse Tracy and Wallace Spencer were in Burley Thursday. Those concerned with national forest problems on the east side after three weeks under the doctors care, and it Is possible that he may return home within a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Miles Tracy are moving to Oakley where Miles has employment. Mrs. LaVere Tracy underwent a major operation at the Cooley Memorial hospital and has returned home to recuperate. Little Miss Dixie Lu Barnes celebrated her third birthday anniversary Wednesday, Feb. 4. She was honored guest at a party given at her Aunt Rheas. The following little friends was present at the party. Pamela, Patricia, Milton and Blaine Oman, Cheryl and Mike Fehlman, Marie Holtman, Linda and Larry Whitaker, Jo Ann Stanley and Mike Spencer, Douglas Carolyn Teeter, Don Vickie Montgomery, Kay-lenOman, Orlene Thompson and her little sister, Paulette. They played' hide the thimble and ate candy and birthday cake. Pictures were taken during the entire party. Dixie received many lovely gifts. By the way, the little guest of honor is In a cast which covers her body up to her arms. In a few months with the faith and prayers of all, we hope she will be running around.
