eight words tom passed away last night at 10 sent by mrs thomas W odonnell to dr charles E kirth hirth at vernal and received monday morning conveyed to the homeland of thomas W odonnell that his bis long suffering had ended in t his demise and brought sorrow and grief to his many friends in all I 1 parts of the uintah basin aasin the immediate cause of his hig d aach was an attack of multiple myelon ata a disease of the bones when mr odonnell early in january 1927 lett left vernal lor for salt lake city to attend the ithe session of the legislature in his capacity of state sen sea ator 1 the fifth senatorial district of utah Duch duchesne duchesse esue and uintah counties it way was known that he had complained of illness but it was riot not thought thal thai anything serious had befallen him ile he attended tended al the senate sessions several days and then ithen was forced to seek beek release froni from his duties and remain in his apartments within a ew days the illness assumed a 9 serious aspect and so serious became 1 the zana se natora tors condition that within a tw few weeks his life was des despaired paired ot of however under tie the constant devoted attention of mrs ODo odonnell irnell and other physicians bis his condit condition lao improved and during the summer of 0 1927 he came home with his family the following winter he and hla his family spent in san diego california and again the illness claiming him as its victim made serious inroads and again his life was despaired of later lie tallied and he ind his hia family cams camp back to ver fial in the ithe summer of 1928 during that stay slay in vernal senator odonnell improved in health to an extent em enabling abling him to walk with the ild aid of crutches and make brief visits ifsits to his friends when he fie and his family departed for san gan diego ones once more late in the summer of 1928 not one of hla his host of friends tri ends in the uintah basta basra thought otherwise than that tom odonnell would again be back in vernal during the next summer but fate decreed otherwise senator ODon nells illness despite the remarkable resistance displayed by the patient made such inroads that soon boon it was apparent that the ithe patients life could not be saved that it was as only a question of 0 when his bis suf felings would be ended toy by death the last year of the ithe senators life was a span of uninterrupted pain and anguish with no hope of ultimate recovery to assuage the anguish of himself or of his hia devoted wife his hia friends here deiv were advised of the native of loll 1011 mont colorado born november 12 1875 in that section of northern colorado famed tor for 1 its t 9 agricultural pursuits IMS he received hla his scholastic and legal education in eleven years old in 1913 he was admitted to the practice of law before the supreme court of utah throughout his bla life he be was waa affiliated id with the republican party for four our years tears association includes more uniformity in legislation enacted by the legislatures of the various states the activities of mr air odonnell in his profession and in the realm of politics in no BO wise prevented his from participating actively in the up building and the permanent development of the uintah basin the homeland of his choice he was in securing the establishment of the agricultural experiment station near fort duchesne part of the extension division of the utah state agricultural college his active support was given to that unique institution the uintah basin industrial con
