Snow read an obituary as published in tte Des-1 eret News on the death of Apostle Abraham H. Cannon. Elder James G. Bleak read from the vision in the Doctrine and Covenants Cov-enants as given to the prophet Joseph Jo-seph Smith. Said although apostle Abraham H. Cannon was the youngest young-est of all the apostles, yet he was the first to be called to pass beyond the vale. He was an exemplary man, only 38 years of age, but his life has been spent to benefit his fellow fel-low man on earth and he has gone to continue the cause of Christ although al-though in another sphere. His object ob-ject in life was to forward the cause of Christ on the earth. He was sent on a foreign mission when only 20 years of age, which he filled with credit to himself and the cause which he represented. He read more in the vision showing show-ing the reward of those who have been faithful and true to the cause of Christ to the end of their days, and showed that these are they who will receive an inheritance in the celestial kingdom. , 1 Elder Joseph' Orton desired to be inspired to utter that which will be beneficial to his hearers. Spoke in praise of apostle Abraham H. Can- non and of his many virtues and up-! right life, and encouraged all to spend their lives in defending the principles of the gospel. Councilor T. P. Cottam spoke feelingly of the life and character of . apostle Cannon, and exhoited all to follow his good example. |
